Psychotherapy

People come to psychotherapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or low mood, struggling with a sense of being stuck, or finding everyday life harder to manage. You may be navigating the pain of a relationship breakdown, coping with loss or bereavement, or living with the lasting effects of trauma or difficult experiences.

You might also be struggling with obsessive thoughts or behaviours, panic, health anxiety, low self-esteem, or questions around identity and relationships. Sometimes, there isn’t a clear explanation for how you’re feeling—you may simply know that something doesn’t feel right.

Psychotherapy offers a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly and explore what you’re experiencing at your own pace. Together, we can begin to understand what may be contributing to your difficulties, develop new perspectives, and work towards positive change.

My aim is to offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and able to explore what matters to you. Whether you’re looking for relief from current difficulties or hoping to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can be a place to begin.

My Approaches

In our work together, I draw on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, offering both short-term and longer-term psychotherapy, depending on what feels right for you and what you hope to achieve through therapy.

I take a collaborative and holistic approach, which means that we will work together to understand your experiences, consider what may be contributing to your difficulties, and explore what might be most helpful for you. Your individual circumstances, history, strengths, and goals will all be important in shaping our work.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I believe therapy should be tailored to the person sitting in front of me. Our work will develop through an open and thoughtful dialogue, creating space to reflect, gain insight, process difficult emotions, and consider new ways of understanding yourself and your experiences.

My aim is to offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I will work at a pace that feels manageable for you, while supporting you to make meaningful changes and develop a deeper understanding of yourself along the way.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

I also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a structured and evidence-based approach that recognises the deep connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

In our work together, we will gently explore how certain patterns—often shaped by past experiences—may be contributing to the emotional distress or difficulties you're currently facing. By increasing awareness of these patterns, we can begin to make sense of your responses and develop practical ways to ease emotional suffering.

This approach is collaborative and respectful of your pace, and aims to support you in finding new ways of relating to your thoughts, behaviours, and emotional experiences.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

I also offer both brief and long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy—a depth-oriented form of talking therapy.

This approach invites us to explore how early relational experiences and patterns from the past may be shaping your present emotional life, behaviours, and relationships—with others and with yourself. Through a thoughtful and supportive therapeutic relationship, we can begin to understand these patterns more fully, bringing into awareness what may have previously felt confusing, stuck, or out of reach.

By making space for reflection and insight, psychodynamic work can help foster meaningful and lasting change.

DIT (Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy)

I practice Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), a focused and supportive approach that helps uncover the links between the difficulties you’re experiencing and the patterns in your past and present relationships. Together, we gently explore a core repetitive way of relating that often originates from early childhood experiences.

By bringing this pattern into awareness, we can better understand how it shows up in your current relationships and contributes to emotional distress. This insight creates a foundation for change, helping you to experience more ease and connection in your relationships and within yourself.
